Stone Sour is an American rock band that was formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992 by vocalist Corey Taylor and drummer Joel Ekman. The band went on hiatus in 1997, but reformed in 2000 with the addition of guitarists Jim Root and Josh Rand, and bassist Shawn Economaki. The second album by Stone Sour was released on August 1, 2006 by Roadrunner Records. The album features a more melodic and polished sound than the previous one, with influences from bands such as Metallica, Foo Fighters, and Queens of the Stone Age. The album was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who had previously worked with bands such as Rush, Foo Fighters, and Velvet Revolver. The album received mostly positive reviews from critics, who praised the band's musical evolution, Taylor's vocals, and the catchy hooks. The album spawned six singles: "30/30-150", "Through Glass", "Sillyworld", "Made of Scars", "Zzyzx Rd.", and "Reborn".
